DDS get Turbo Charged all round! Following the sponsorship of our two “up and coming” Racers, it is fair to say DDS Demolition has now officially caught the racing bug.
Whereas once upon a time our Netflix was a plethora of mainstream action, comedy and drama – it is now The Fast and The Furious all the way.
Michael Crees competed at Brands Hatch at the British Touring Car Championship in the Ginetta GT4 Supercup series across Saturday and Sunday. Raw talent surpassed nerves for Michael who – out of 3 races, achieved some incredible results.
The first race saw Crees take the chequered flag in 1st position however also delivered a sharp learning curve when he was given a 5 second penalty for an unintentional on-track incident demoting him to 2nd place. As the anticipation built throughout the day and we enjoyed the brilliant hospitality and amazing racing of the other groups, Crees was yet to deliver more excitement. With the support of his loyal team and his lovely family by his side, Crees roared into the lead despite fierce competition from the surrounding experienced drivers to take the coveted pole position and 1st place in his second and third races
Well done Michael, absolutely amazing driving – roll on Donington as Championship leader!!!
Alfie Howland meanwhile competed in the Lydd Summer Championship R1 this weekend. After negotiating the tricky wet conditions and struggling to find grip, the first race of the day strengthened his resolve and the determined 7 year old didn’t lose spirit. Friends and family cheering him on, Alfie was confidently overtaking and stealthily gaining ground on the front racers eventually gaining a respectable 5th place in his second race.
The third and final race proved to be just as adrenaline filled. Alfie was fully revved up by this point and after adapting to the wet conditions earlier in the day was now benefiting from a slightly drier track. The closest of all the races, every driver on the track was giving it their all. Alfie set a new PB for his best lap time at Lydd by 0.6 of a second and finished in an admirable 4th place.
Well done Alfie, great work!!
