The DDS Group has taken the past week to immediately action and digest the Governments guidelines with regard to safe working and safe practice for the welfare of our employees and the wider community.
Imposing the temporary shut down of all sites as of Tuesday 24th March 2020 was considered fundamental to safeguard our workforce whilst we assess our working environments.
As of Thursday 2nd April 2020, adhering to the Government guidelines and CLC advice, the DDS Group will be operating a reduced service. The Construction industry, at this point in time, is following Government guidance and continues to operate as safely as practicable – DDS in turn is implementing additional measures to safeguard our workforce whilst taking a sympathetic view to the wider picture both health-wise and financially to our colleagues.
An element of our works can overlap, aid and support key workers during this unprecedented time when all industries are trying to pull together to gain a reasonable and safe understanding to manage the situation effectively. In agreement with Clients and colleagues alike, there will be certain sites and projects that are deemed safe and essential to continue.
The safety of our workforce and the wider community remains DDS’ priority. Any works which require continuation will be executed in accordance with the up to date Government Guidelines and Construction Leadership Council advice. The CLC has now published Site Operating Procedures (SOP) which align with the latest guidance from Public Health England. As this health guidance updates, the SOP will reflect any changes.
We wish to thank our colleagues and clients alike for their loyalty and understanding as we continue to navigate these worrying and uncharted waters.
