DDS Demolition were pleased to host a day of tours around our demolition site at St James Street, Dover on Friday 2nd October.
The day consisted of five groups: a group of ballot winners; the Dover District Council Project Team; News representatives from the BBC, ITV, The Kent Messenger and the Dover Express; and a final group of DDS Demolition clients and local key individuals.
Following a site induction, each group was take up to the 6th floor of Burlington House where our demolition sequencing and techniques were explained through a short presentation. Following this, all visitors were taken to the roof for a photo opportunity, before descending back down to ground floor level and inspecting the Archaeological Site.
As the tour was through a live demolition site, the event had to be risk assessed and planned in advance. Safe transit routes were prepared, inductions were given along with the correct PPE, and trained escorts guided the visitors at all times.
Complimentary hot food and drinks were also provided by DDS Demolition.
